Done Deal

So, somebody let himself into my car somewhere between when I arrived home last evening and my departure this morning, and stole my wallet.

And yes, I've been taking the necessary steps, since discovery of this someone's choice, to ensure that our money and identities remain intact. So far, so good.

I was just walking around my house thinking about the few other incidents like this that've happened where we dwell.

There was the time when a car followed us home at night, and when we got out of our car, the knucklehead yelled, "Ya'll have a nice night!" seemingly to intimidate us. Then there was the time when someone attempted to break into the house (while no one was home), only to find that though they broke window panes in the door, they couldn't get past the dead bolt. Then there was the other time someone chose to go into one of our cars looking for things. And now ... this time.

What dawns on me is that each time, our dwelling place has been found secure ... let me explain.

KNUCKLEHEADS CAN TEACH TOO!

The time when the knuckleheads followed us home and told us to have a good night [laughingly, at that], my first response was, "Oh, no they're not!" And I commenced to pacing within our home praying aloud and speaking to intimidation, fear, and evil that would try and make me crumble.

The time when someone tried to break into the house -- welp -- they found that they could only do artificial damage to the property.

The first time someone went through the car, they found no wallet, no cash, no nothing (and I'll add they left all the compartments open ... guess they ain't care 'bout tidying up -- RUDE!).

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention the time my dad and stepmom mailed something to our boys, and a neighbor way down the street brought the opened, wind blown box that remained after another special someone had invited themselves to the package contents. That time, my boys didn't receive what was intended, by their grandparents, for them to have. But here's the bottom line ... they didn't really miss it ... because they had MORE than enough toys and clothes and provision. And that which my dad and stepmom lost in funds pales in comparison to them being able to talk to their grandkids whenever they want!

And this time ... I've prayed for the person who made an unethical [but possibly dire] decision to steal my wallet. I've asked God to deal with him/her the way He can and chooses. And this wasn't a "Get 'em, God" type of prayer either. I want God to, as I wouldhad they not taken from medo whatever He needs to in that life that will pull that person closer to Him. This is my prayer for all people because at every part of my day, this is my heart posture ... that all would be saved.

And so, what's been the prevailing factor as people have tried to negatively/physically/emotionally influence where we live, is the consistent spiritual growth that God's done in us -- these Payne people. And I will have it this way until the day I die.

There's an impenetrable anointing that God bestows upon His people who will simply be like children when it comes to Him and them.

Therefore, I'm the kid.

He's the dad. That's it ...

Done deal.
