Greatness Holds Us Accountable

Chile, one of my clients texted me the other day that her co-worker told her she (my client) inspired her to start working out because of my client's physical transformation over these months. My client said her co-worker told her she now walks several miles a day and is down 34 lbs. between the time the inspiration hit her and now.
I joked with my client, whose own fitness push has turned the heads of others and has pushed them to make a positive fitness change, that her greatness, one way or another, will hold her accountable. Her response to me was, "LOL yeah yeah." However, that stone cold truth just flowed right from my thumbs onto my phone and right on into my contemplative space because chile, that ... is ... so ... right and true!
God, the Creator, made everyone ... you, me, the sanitation worker, the teacher, the dancer, the phlebotomist, the person at the median corner with the sign, the seemingly homeless person outside of Dollar General, with his dog, asking for help ... He made us to ... be ... great. And that's why He put it inside of us within talents, gifts, callings, and such to put it on display FOR HIS GLORY AND REPUTATION, not necessarily ours.
So, that being said, we might as well go right on 'head and be great. How do we do this? By telling Him 'yes' to everything He has to say and request of us. When we consider the fact that He made us (Genesis 1-3), this question rings strongly: Who are we to ever tell him 'no'? The reality is and will always be that we have no business doing this, and we need to own up to it.
There's really no nice way to say it. We must obey Him because life outside of obedience to our Creator is a waste of time.
I have no time to waste, and neither do you. Our time here is limited, and we will all have an eternity to which we must answer. I know which eternity I want knocking at my door, and while I'm here, I want to make all things, all choices count for righteousness.
No one is perfect, and what gives me comfort and rest is that God's not asking us to be. He wants availability, and He will do super things through this!
Go on 'head and be great! You're being held accountable to this task anyway, whether you recognize it or not. Your greatness is holding you accountable through that conversation you just had and you know God was speaking. It's holding you accountable through your child, who just called you to the carpet when you lied in front of him. It's holding you accountable through that commercial you just randomly caught on the t.v. or radio. It's holding you accountable through remembering what somebody said to you or some situation that happened. It's looking for you to respond with a constant 'yes'. So, utter it and move in obedience.

Yesss, amen to that last statement!
Yup, Dannie. Ten miles a day, chile. And yes, that's a good way to see it ... being the best version of ourselves regardless of the hand we were dealt. I am currently allowing God to pull me out of fretting over my imperfections or the imperfect feeling of my process. Furthermore, if He is pleased with me, then my displeasure with myself is laughable.
I listened to a message today about how we should be the best version of ourselves despite the cards we've been dealt. This blog reminds me of that. Also, her co worker walks 10 miles a day?? Geesh!!! Awesome for her!😆
